The No Rose Box
For anyone who thinks they dislike Turkish delight. Not a trace of rose — just lemon, strawberry, mint, ginger and hazelnut.
Description
Say “Turkish delight” to most people in Britain and you will get a face. Ask why, and the answer is almost always the same: it tastes like soap, or like perfume, or like something their grandmother had in a tin. What they are describing is rose — and usually cheap rose at that.
So this box leaves it out completely. No rose, no floral flavours of any kind. Ten pieces each of Lemon, Strawberry, Mint, Ginger and Hazelnut: sharp, fresh, warm and nutty in turn, and not a trace of anything perfumed.
Everything here is made exactly the same way as our traditional boxes — by hand, in small batches, from the same natural flavours. The only difference is which ones we reached for.
How it tastes
Lemon — Sharp and clean, built on zest rather than sugar. It is the flavour that cuts through everything around it, which is why we put a little in boxes that would otherwise turn heavy.
Strawberry — Ripe and jammy without tipping into sickly. The most straightforwardly likeable one we make, and usually the first to go when there are children in the house.
Mint — Cool and clean, closer to a fresh leaf than to confectionery. It clears the palate rather than coating it, which makes it the one that works after a meal.
Ginger — Warm, with a genuine catch of heat at the back of it. Not fierce, but you know it is there — the liveliest flavour in the range.
Hazelnut — Toasted and buttery, with a chew the fruit flavours do not have. Closer to nougat than to jelly, and much more of a mouthful.

Who it’s for
